If you are experiencing problems with your home or other structures that you may own, remember that seeing is believing! At some point in the process the visual evidence of damage (cracks, water damaged materials, etc.) may be covered over, altered or removed. Preserve the visual evidence of this damage as best you can (by photographs, saving samples of damaged materials, etc.). Preserving the visual evidence of damage may assist you later in proving the merits of your claim. Without this proof it may become more difficult to convince the trier of fact (judge, jury or arbitrator) that the home or other structure was significantly damaged. Don’t allow some good evidence to end up in the dumpster!
